Women cannot buy Cucumbers

Labels:

I hope the following new article from Telegraph UK is not true, even if it is 50% true. I cannot imagine living in such a situation where symbolic or otherwise are banned just for the sake it. I want to just belief this is just a propaganda by the western media to paint a bad picture in Iraq. What do you think? Any comments and read other's comments?

They include a ban on women buying suggestively-shaped vegetables, according to one tribal leader in the western province of Anbar.
Sheikh Hameed al-Hayyes, a Sunni elder, told Reuters: "They even killed female goats because their private parts were not covered and their tails were pointed upward, which they said was haram.
"They regarded the cucumber as male and tomato as female. Women were not allowed to buy cucumbers, only men."

Frankly speaking I trust Telegraph more than our local media like Bernama, Star and NST.

It could be a western spin to discredit Iraq, but the story has to have some credit or truth before telegraph dare to carry it. Their reputation = revenue.

I love cucumbers, I use cucumbers for a lot of facial therapy. I cannot live without cucumber. I also like to eat tomato..

But I like cucumbers and banana more, Not for any sexual purpose. For that I have and will be able to get my fair share of fun! I do not need vegetable as substitute, only in the depress society.. i suppose!

If men can buy cucumber, will they grow to like more cucumbers? Hence prefer more Sodo Mee?
